In a paper, the international department of the German trade union confederation DGB argues in favour of a European public health policy. It’s time to end the privatisation of healthcare systems which, after falling victim to budget cuts, have been unable to cope with the epidemic. States should also rely on the Treaty (Article 168) to establish effective European coordination and guarantee affordable healthcare that is available to every European citizen.
