On 6 March 2024, European social partners in the river cruise sector signed a framework agreement to improve the working conditions on board of river cruise vessels, as well as to ensure a level playing field for the sector. The text is presented as being binding, as it goes further than the usual “recommendations” or “guidelines” encountered in the marine and inland waterways sector”, says ETF (see ETF press release).
