On 19 January, a Joint Business Statement has been issued by 27 European employers’ associations and organisations, including BusinessEurope, Ceemet and ECEG, setting out their views on the proposal for a due diligence directive. The statement, published a few days before the report presented by Raphaël Glucksman was due to be adopted at the committee stage of the European Parliament on 24 January, states that the European business community supports an EU due diligence framework based on “realism, proportionality, and workability.
