The European Commission has launched the second-phase consultation of Social Partners under Article 154 TFEU, focusing on a potential legislative initiative regarding telework and the right to disconnect. This consultation invites representatives of workers and employers across the EU to provide their views. This consultation is essential to shape EU-level action to address the challenges linked to remote working and workers’ work-life balance.

As telework becomes increasingly widespread in the post-pandemic labour market, ensuring fair and safe working conditions for remote workers has become a top priority. This process is part of the EU’s commitment to promoting social dialogue and involving social partners in shaping fair digital labour standards.

The feedback gathered will inform possible future EU actions to regulate telework and protect workers’ rights in the evolving digital workplace.
