Le Central Arbitration Committee, la juridiction britannique en charge des contentieux relatifs aux CE européens, a rendu une décision, le 23 décembre 2024, dans une affaire opposant le CE européen du British Council, à la direction de cette institution gouvernementale en charge de promouvoir la langue anglaise à travers le monde. En l’espèce, il s’agissait du CE européen mis en place sous législation anglaise avant le Brexit, qui continue à vivre à côté du CE européen mis en place en Irlande, après le Brexit, les deux instances poursuivant leur vie en parallèle. Le CE européen estimait qu'en principe, une réunion exceptionnelle du comité au titre des prescriptions subsidiaires devrait se tenir en personne et non en ligne, sauf accord contraire entre la direction centrale et le CE européen. Le CAC considère que la loi britannique (TICER) ne « dit rien sur le format de cette réunion et sur la question de savoir si ce format doit être convenu entre les parties ». L’avis du CAC est « qu'un employeur peut avoir la possibilité d'imposer unilatéralement une réunion en ligne à un CE européen », mais s’il serait « souhaitable que l'employeur et le CE européen s'efforcent de se mettre d'accord sur le format de la réunion »
